Renton Municipal Arts Commission accepting 2024 grant applications

The deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023

RENTON, WA (September 12, 2023) – Renton Municipal Arts Commission is now accepting applications for the 2024 Arts & Culture Grants and invites individuals, organizations, and community groups to apply and bring to life their creative visions to enrich Renton residents and visitors.

The Arts & Culture Grants initiative generates community-driven artistic endeavours, fostering a deeper connection to the arts among Renton residents. Embracing the vibrancy of Renton's cultural mosaic, the commission welcomes inventive projects that celebrate diversity, enhance individual and societal understanding, and ignite fresh avenues of artistic engagement. Special attention goes to projects empowering underserved communities.

These grants support diverse artistic programming, encompassing art exhibitions, concerts, dance performances, festivals, educational workshops, readings, and theatre productions.

Applicants can secure grants of up to $10,000 and are limited to one per calendar year for each eligible applicant.

The grant application process for 2024 includes four distinct funding rounds. The first round's deadline is October 13, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. The primary emphasis for this round is on projects and events scheduled for January through March 2024.

The 2024 deadline for the subsequent three cycles is February 2, April 19, and July 19.

For additional support and insights, the Renton Municipal Arts Commission will host two drop-in Q&A sessions to provide an informal opportunity to connect with the grant committee, seek clarity, and engage with other applicants. The first is on Monday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second is on Tuesday, October 10, from 6 to 7 p.m. Both sessions are at the Renton Library. No pre-registration is required.
