RapidRide I Line will upgrade Route 160 (previously Route 180, combined with former Route 169) connecting the cities of Auburn, Kent, and Renton.  Anticipated to launch in 2025, project elements include:

• Buses will come more often and more reliably.
• We will add service at night and on weekends.
• Many stations will be upgraded with lighting, seating, and real-time arrival information.
• All-door boarding and ORCA card readers on buses will mean faster loading and unloading for all passengers.
• Improved sidewalks and street crossings will make it easier and safer to get to/from bus stations.

Eastlink Connections

By 2024, Sound Transit will open 12 new light rail stations connecting downtown Seattle and the Eastside.  Metro and Sound Transit are initiating a mobility project to implement a coordinated regional transit network. This project will deliver an updated mobility network that integrates with and complements Sound Transit’s 12 new Link light rail stations connecting downtown Seattle and the Eastside.

Stride Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) S1 Line – Burien to Bellevue

I-405 Stride bus rapid transit will connect communities along I-405 and SR 518 from Lynnwood to Burien. With buses running as often as every 10 minutes, this new service will connect to Link light rail at Lynnwood, Bellevue and Tukwila as well as to other transit service provided by Sound Transit, Community Transit and King County Metro. The project includes a new transit center in South Renton and 10 BRT stations, three of which will also add parking, for a total of 1,300 new spaces. I-405 BRT builds upon the Washington State Department of Transportation's I-405 Master Plan with roadway improvements for faster travel.

I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes (ETL)

The Renton to Bellevue project will add new capacity to create a two-lane ETL system between SR 167 in Renton and Northeast Sixth Street in Bellevue. In general, the project will add one new lane in each direction and combine the existing HOV lane with the new lane to create a dual ETL system. WSDOT expects opening.
