Renton Art Lounge
Welcome to the Renton Art Lounge, a monthly haven for artists held at the Black River Cultural Arts Center. Gather with us every third Wednesday of the month, from 4 to 7 PM, for an evening brimming with artistic connection and inspiration.

What to Expect:

  • Networking: Engage with fellow artists and enthusiasts in a vibrant and welcoming environment.
  • Learn and Create: Each month features a short program where you can acquire new skills, share techniques, or broaden your art knowledge—all while nurturing your creative spirit.

Craft Cruise
Discover the Craft Cruise: Embark on a creative journey as you traverse downtown businesses, immersing yourself in bite-sized crafting sessions. Similar to a wine walk but with an artistic flair! Delight in 15-minute craft sessions at each stop. Unleash your creativity amidst the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Renton.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 7th, and swing by Piazza Park to pick up your map! While participation is free, registration is required to guarantee your spot on the Cruise. (Space is limited and capped at 200 participants)

Dragon chalk
Claim your concrete canvas at the Chalk Art Competition at Renton River Days 2024. Experience a kaleidoscope of color!

Bringing back the chalk activities of previous River Days, local artists and amateurs transform the pavement into a technicolor landscape of chalk compositions for the chance to win coveted prizes. Wander through the open-air gallery, savoring delicious food, lively music, and the vibrant activities of the festival on Saturday, July 27.

Artists of all ages are invited to register for the competition. This includes a reserved spot, and eligibility for the People's Choice Award, and the Judge's Selection Award. Registration Deadline is July 12. Register today!

Renton Municipal Arts Commission

Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC) was formed by Resolution 1320, on August 9, 1965. Overseeing an annual budget, the commission is charged with the responsibility of acting in an advisory capacity to city government in connection with the artistic and cultural development of the city.

The commission strives to support and connect people with arts and culture endeavors in the Renton community. The goals include: 

  • Enrich and increase participation and awareness of the cultural and artist community.  

  • Serve as Renton’s source for arts information

  • Increase funding opportunities for arts and culture programs

  • Advocate for arts education at all levels

  • Advise the city on arts related projects and public art.
