In 2023, the task force members are returning to their original purpose of serving their unique communities as a conduit for two-way dialogue with the City, building bridges of communication and understanding. Founded in 2015 by Mayor Denis Law, the Mayor's Inclusion Task Force members work with city staff towards the city's goal of inclusion and equity.

In 2020, led by Mayor Armondo Pavone, the task force members were instrumental in forming the city's first Equity Commission where community members representing diverse perspectives in review of city policies and programs.
