The 2023 Community Survey was completed in June/July and the full results dashboard is now available.
The City of Renton conducts a survey of our community about every two to four years. The survey provides important feedback that helps us get a better understanding of the residents' and business community’s experience with city services and helps advise city leaders as they assess future projects and services that may be desired by the community.
These results are used to help:
- Evaluate our performance.
- Inform our performance-based budgeting process.
- Understand the priorities of our residents and businesses and establish the city’s priorities.
- Help shape the future of Renton.
We would like to thank those residents who completed the survey this past summer, we truly appreciate your participation. This has provided critical feedback informing us of the community’s opinions and attitudes about city services and programs and is tremendously valuable in guiding our work to address concerns and celebrate successes.
Renton faces many of the same challenges that most cities in the region, if not the entire country, are also encountering. Concerns around crime and safety, travel and mobility, and providing mental health services and support to those experiencing homelessness are vital areas that residents prioritized and want to see improved. Numerous projects, programs, and other efforts are already in place to address these concerns.
Despite the challenges faced by the city, Renton residents have expressed their genuine happiness and satisfaction with the place they proudly call home. The recent survey has revealed one of the city's greatest achievements: the outstanding rating given to city employees by its residents.
The Executive Summary (summarized survey results) was presented to Renton City Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, August 7, 2023. You can access the meeting recording through the Renton City Council webpage.
Thank you again to the more than 650 Renton residents for participating in the survey. To view the full survey results, access the interactive dashboard.
