Our Renton July 2024 editionDeeply rooted within Renton residents, Renton River Days is a festival born from local collaboration, uniting an ever-growing community. Since its inception in 1986, this vibrant festival has combined Renton's passion for music, art, food, and entertainment for all ages. Join the 2024 Renton River Days celebration from July 26 to July 28 to dive into various activities and discover "Where Community Grows!"

This year's mid-summer celebration is proudly sponsored by Boeing, Brotherton Cadillac, McLendon Hardware, BECU, Walker's Renton Mazda, Walker's Renton Subaru, and PSE.

On the festival’s 39th-year kickoff, the celebration will begin with an early morning tee time during the annual golf tournament at Maplewood Golf Course on Friday, June 26. Across town on Friday evening, the city’s second drone show, plus a musical performance, will be held at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park this year. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. on the Kidd Valley stage (across from the Kidd Valley restaurant), and the spectacular drone show by Sky Elements begins at 9:30 p.m.

As the festival continues into Saturday, take advantage of the annual parade at 10 a.m. starting on Third Street. Then, move to the Renton River Days Campus at Liberty Park and Renton Community Center.

Liberty Park will be the place for live entertainment, community booths, and enjoying an enticing showcase of diverse food trucks at the Renton Foodie Fest.

For those seeking more excitement, visit the Renton Community Center and Cedar River Park to enjoy the free Activity Zone, the Renton Municipal Arts Commission and Allied Arts of Renton's Chalk Art Competition located between Houser Way and Renton Community Center, and the exhilarating Summer Bazaar Arts & Crafts Show, which promises an abundance of handcrafted treasures for sale.

Both locations offer entertainment opportunities that are accessible via Houser Way.

Culminating in the final day's festivities, guests can look forward to continuing all of Saturday's events, along with the eagerly anticipated Renton Rotary Rubber Ducky Derby and Deutsch-Marque Show.

The city looks forward to a fantastic celebration that will allow the community to unite, enjoy, and take pride in Renton.

Register Renton rentals and enhance the quality of rental housing

Did you know that renters make up 46% of households in Renton? That's why it is essential to prioritize the maintenance of quality rental housing in the city. All landlords and property managers must register their residential rental properties within Renton city limits annually.

The City of Renton's Community & Economic Development Department's Rental Registration Program ensures that every residential rental property in Renton is officially registered. Landlords and property managers must renew registration annually by January 31 through online application or submit the form via email or mail.

As part of the application, owners will be asked to submit a Declaration of Compliance Checklist, ensuring that the property meets the necessary standards. If you are a property manager, please complete the application at rentonwa.gov/rentalregistration. Help create a safe and thriving community for both renters and property owners in Renton.
