COVID-19 Updates

Chief of Police Ed VanValey is providing regular updates to community on department procedures in response to COVID-19.

Standing against hate crimes

Since the advent of COVID-19, there have been reports nationally of increased incidents of hate crimes targeting Asian communities. Renton police have a zero-tolerance policy against such crimes and ask that you call 911 immediately if you are a victim or witness such a crime.

"Hello"

Renton Police Department's "Adele" (Detective Adele O’Rourke) sings her version of Adele’s “Hello” to show our support to the Renton community for staying strong and supporting us all during these unprecedented times.

The Renton Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency with 164 employees comprised of 129 commissioned and 35 civilian personnel.

Our officers work diligently to protect life and property, assist in the suppression of crime, apprehend criminals, and enforce laws.
